West Ham are believed to be ‘keeping tabs’ on the situation of Manchester United centre-back Phil Jones this summer.
The 29-year-old looks to be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford following an injury-hit 2020/21 with the Europa League runners-up.
Irons’ boss David Moyes is on the lookout for increased squad strength at the London Stadium ahead of the Hammers’ own European adventure.
According to a report from 90min, as cited by West Ham Xtra on Twitter, West Ham are amongst a number of potential suitors.

The report claims that the east Londoners are joined by Premier League rivals Everton, Newcastle, Southampton, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Burnley in holding an admiration in the 27-cap England man.
Jones has enjoyed a trophy-laden career in Manchester and was previously a regular starter at the club.
Since arriving from Blackburn Rovers for £16million in 2011 (The Guardian), the Englishman has made 224 appearances for the Red Devils.

Valued at £4.5million and with two years remaining on a contract (Transfermarkt), landing the versatile ace for nothing would still represent smart business.
Moyes’ ranks are in need of additional defensive cover after Fabian Balbuena left the club and Jones could offer that and more.
Predominantly a centre-back, the man once hailed as the ‘ideal defender’ by Jose Mourinho can also operate in midfield.
Whilst the signing may not excite many, having played at the elite level including 21 Champions League outings, as far as squad depth goes, this would make plenty of sense.
