West Ham target Martin Braithwaite is one of a number of Barcelona fringe players the club are reportedly ‘praying’ to secure permanent departures for this summer.
The Catalan giants are hoping to land around £10million for the Danish ace as they look to raise funds for their own summer spending and in order to sanction a new big-money contract for Lionel Messi.
Repeatedly linked with a move to the Hammers, the 30-year-old striker has boosted his own reputation with an impressive Euro 2020 campaign.
This comes from a report in the print edition of AS (04/07, p19), as cited by West Ham News & Views on Twitter, claiming the Irons could benefit.

Braithwaite is set to feature on Wednesday when England face Denmark in the semi-finals having earned an average Sofascore rating of 7.04 so far in the tournament.
Despite not being the main feature under Ronald Koeman at the Camp Nou, the Dane managed 40 appearances in 2020/21, scoring seven and assisting another four goals.

Valued at £8.10million and under contract until 2024 in Catalunia (Transfermarkt), the mooted asking price would be a shrewd deal for the Irons.
Albeit far from a prolific goalscorer, Braithwaite has netted 93 goals in 401 senior appearances during a distinguished career.
Perhaps as a signing alongside a younger option with potential, West Ham could do a lot worse than the Barca man.
