West Ham are reportedly leading the race to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, with the Frenchman looking to move onto pastures new this summer.
Edouard has seen a dramatic drop in asking price as the 23-year-old approaches the last 12 months of his contract and could now be available for as little as £8m.
Former Premier League striker Kevin Campbell has told Football Insider at that price the Hammers could face major competition for the Frenchman’s signature.
Oh yeah, that’s a bargain. He’s a very good player, he’s a great hold up player and I don’t think West Ham will be the only team coming in for Edouard this summer. For less than £15million? Trust me, it won’t just be West Ham who want to sign him if he’s available for that little.
This season the prolific France Under 21 international has bagged 20 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions.
Those numbers, albeit impressive, pale into insignificance compared to previous campaigns for the man hailed as ‘magnificent’ by former boss Neil Lennon.

Edouard has been a truly prolific frontman during his time with Celtic, scoring 81 goals in 164 outings.
Whether that form can translate into the more competitive Premier League remains the big questions.
However, at the mooted fee he would certainly be worth any risk.
