West Ham have been named among the clubs interested in signing Valencia winger Goncalo Guedes in a report from Spanish publication Fichajes (via Sport Witness).
The Hammers are joined by Napoli and AS Monaco in their interest with Valencia believed to be willing to accept offers of around €15million.
Guedes was once heralded by Europe’s elite sides and seemed to have the pick before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for £36m, however, it was an ill-fated move that lasted less than a year before a move to La Liga.
Now in his fourth season in Spain, the Portuguese 24-year-old has made 123 appearances scoring 19 goals and making 19 assists in that time.
With 23 senior Portugal caps and six goals to his name, Guedes has the ability to impact at the top level and injuries may have impacted his valencia career to date.
On signing for PSG back in 2017, then director of football at the French giants and Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert described Guedes as ‘one of the greatest Portuguese talents’.

Forgetting what’s gone before in the way of Guedes’ promise and praise, this season’s measly two-goal contributions in 18 league outings is a major red flag.
Predominantly a left-winger, Guedes would likely be direct competition for Pablo Fornals who himself has struggled to set the world alight in terms of goal contributions.
However, Fornals offers so much more to the Hammers and has proven Premier League quality, meaning at present this may be a deal best worth avoiding.
