West Ham temporarily moved into the top four with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Sheffield United at the London Stadium and ended the night in fifth place, outside the Champions League spots on goal difference only.
The Hammers took the lead from the penalty spot when Jesse Lingard was brought down cynically. After some conjecture between Lingard and Declan Rice over who would take the resulting spot kick, it was the latter who stepped up and slotted home his first goal of the season.
