West Ham are set to miss out on the capture of highly-rated Rangers teenager Nathan Young-Coombes, according to Football Insider.
The former Chelsea and Crystal Palace youth player is instead set to complete a move to west London to join Championship club Brentford.
Young-Coombes left Stamford Bridge for Ibrox in February 2019, at which time he was also on the Hammers’ radar. It looks as though the club will miss out again, with Football Insider claiming that the 19-year-old has opted to join the Bees when his contract expires in the summer.
Brentford, who operate a B team with whom the talented forward will initially join up, are expected to pay around £100,000 in compensation to the runaway Scottish Premiership leaders.
Capped twice by England at under-15 level, Young-Coombes has made a big impression for Rangers in the UEFA Youth League, scoring four times in just five outings.

West Ham and Brentford just can’t leave each other alone in the transfer market recently, with both Said Benrahma and Winston Reid making cross-capital moves in either direction in the last few months.
Brentford’s Winston Reid has produced a rich production line of Premier League-ready players of late, and the Irons will likely continue to keep one eye on Young-Coombes’ development despite missing out on him for the second time in as many years.
