West Ham could seek out a free agent as the striker situation takes a turn for the worse at the London Stadium, according to reliable insider ExWHUemployee.
Ex has claimed on his West Ham Way podcast that David Moyes could be forced to delve into the market of available free agents as the Hammers count the cost of Tuesday night’s trip to Manchester United.
With Michail Antonio rested due to fatigue caused by a relentless schedule and being the last recognised striker in the squad, winger Andriy Yarmolenko deputised at centre-forward in place of the 30-year-old. During the match, the Ukrainian suffered knee ligament damage and is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
That injury leaves Moyes with an almost inevitable crisis on his hands, with only teenager Ademipo Odubeko seemingly available to lead the line in next Monday’s clash with Sheffield United.
Ex said on the West Ham Way: ”The situation may (although this was not what Moyes or the club wanted) force the club to look at the free transfer market.”

The decision not to sign a striker having allowed Sebastien Haller to leave hasn’t taken long to backfire on the Hammers.
Two potential options remain available as free agents in Diego Costa and Ahmed Musa, with a proposed move to West Brom for the latter reportedly looking doubtful.
Albeit not an illustrious list, there are numerous players of repute with Premier League experience (and in many cases goals) from which to choose among those currently without a club.
Histrionics and injury-prone tendencies aside, the Hammers only need a striker to see them through until the end of the season, and a number those available should still have the wherewithal to perform at the top level.
