West Ham have been offered the opportunity to sign free agent Diego Costa according to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri on Twitter.

The former Chelsea striker with a controversial past has been available on a free after his contract with Atletico Madrid was ended by mutual contest in December.
Now 32, Costa had been showing he was still capable of producing in at the top level with two goals in his fleeting seven La Liga appearances this term.
Despite the reluctance to sign a frontman who may not be perceived as the ideal solution, with just hours left in the transfer window David Moyes may have run out of options to be selective should he wish to sign a striker.
The Hammers have been left short of recognised goalscorers after Sebastien Haller left the club for Ajax earlier in the window.

With 181 career goals, there’s no denying Costa would be a welcome addition to the squad at the London Stadium and would suit the style of play implemented by Moyes’ side.
Where the prickly Spaniard wouldn’t perhaps fit in is in the dressing room.
Much has been made of the harmony and team spirit within the camp, contributing to the strong start to the season. If there’s one thing Costa hasn’t done in the past, it’s added to a harmonious atmosphere.
