David Moyes is in the market for a striker this month following the recent departure of Sebastien Haller to Ajax.
The South Korean only signed for the Bundesliga club in the summer from Red Bull Salzburg but the 24-year-old has struggled to have the desired impact in Germany, scoring just once in his first nine appearances.
With RB Leipzig reportedly willing to listen to loan offers for the hard-working forward, the Hammers have been billed as potential suitors.
