West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to praise Angelo Ogbonna’s latest eye-catching display as the Hammers played out a goalless draw with Southampton.
The Italian centre-back was in inspired form once again, this time alongside Craig Dawson, as David Moyes’s men secured their third draw in four games at St Mary’s.
Many of the Irons faithful may have feared for the 32-year-old coming up against the returning Danny Ings – however, they needn’t have feared as the experienced Italy international was in control throughout.
Ogbonna was given a match rating of 7.2 by Sofascore on a night whereby he made seven clearances – more than anybody else on the pitch for either side.
Despite his advancing years Ogbonna is experiencing a new lease of life at the London Stadium and has been arguably the ‘Hammer of the year’ so far.
