West Ham continue their hectic Christmas fixture list with a trip to high-flying Southampton this evening and the Hammers need to get back to winning ways.
After making their best start to a Premier League season for five years, a recent run of disappointing performances culminating in poor results has left David Moyes’ side in danger of undoing all their hard work from the opening weeks of the campaign.
Sunday’s clash with Brighton yielded a draw for the Irons, having trailed twice in the match before Tomas Soucek rescued them late on.
Moyes made a host of surprise selections for the clash at the London Stadium, with Ben Johnson included from the start and Mark Noble kept in the team ahead of Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma.
Southampton present a difficult task when West Ham are attempting to end a winless run, but having completed the double over the south coast outfit last term, the Irons can be confident of a positive result.
Here’s how we think Moyes will set up his team this evening, with three changes in personnel and a shift in formation from Sunday’s draw with Brighton…
