Long-term West Ham target Frederik Alves looks to be on the verge of completing his switch to the London Stadium, judging by recent reports.
Insider source ExWHUEmployee declared in a Q&A session with the West Ham Way that he expects the youngster to link up with the Hammers shortly.
Alves was among a host of defensive reinforcements targeted by David Moyes’ side after the Scot identified the central defensive positions as a key area of his squad in desperate need of bolstering.
The Hammers brought in Craig Dawson fromWatford on a season-long loan in October but his spell at the London Stadium has been a non-event. He has yet to feature in any capacity for the Irons.
ExWHUEmployee said that he expects young Danish defender Alves to join up swiftly next month from Danish side Silkeborg and is likely to complete his move to London ‘very soon’.
The 21-year-old remains a real prospect. He has already made more than 50 senior appearances for Silkeborg and is a Denmark under-21 international.

Alves’ senior experience at an age that is anything but senior is indicative of his strong potential. He may not immediately break into Moyes’ starting line-ups, but his unwavering promise certainly catches the eye. His arrival could also be the cue for Dawson’s ties to be cut, with further defensive competition surely counting against the veteran’s first team prospects.
If the Danish setup has identified Alves as a key talent, you can be sure that West Ham are not alone in believing in the future of the 20-year-old as a top-level footballer.
