West Ham fans have been dealt a positive injury update as insider source Claret & Hugh hinted at a potential return date for Arthur Masuaku.
The Irons will be without him and Michail Antonio for Wednesday night’s clash with London rivals Crystal Palace in an all-capital clash at the London Stadium. However, there is a silver lining in that the 27-year-old could be set for a return in January.
The source claimed that medics are set on a December 21st return for Antonio but are cautious not rush the player back to action, but Masuaku should be cleared and available early in the New Year.
The Democratic Republic of Congo international underwent minor keyhole surgery for his knee this week and will likely miss the upcoming games against Palace, Brighton, Chelsea and Southampton. However, he could return as early as January 2nd as the Hammers target a return for the Everton game.
Ahead of the December run of fixtures, Moyes has a fully fit squad bar the losses of Antonio and Masuaku.

Masuaku’s loss is a huge blow given his comfort playing in Moyes’ preferred 3-4-3 or 5-2-3 system.
However, it seems as though the left-sided defender is set to return earlier than first feared after surgery and will come as an immense presence as the Hammers look to pick up points in the new year.
The return of Issa Diop is a further boost as the Irons boast an increasing wealth of available defensive options just as fixtures begin to pile up going into the festive period.
