Portuguese outlet Todofichajes have claimed that West Ham are frontrunners for the signing of Sporting CP winger Jovane Cabral.
Linked with a host of Premier League clubs in recent months, the report claimed that Cabral is one of the ‘great attractions’ in the Portuguese Liga Nos, adding that the Hammers are the club with the most intent on making a deal happen.
An exciting 22-year-old with one cap for Cape Verde, although he has since sought Portuguese international honours, Cabral has played seven times this season for Sporting, scoring twice and setting up one goal.
Equally adept at playing either as a left-winger or central striker, the Portugal-based forward possess strong dribbling and finishing attributes. According to A Bola [via Hampshire Live], he has a release clause of €40m (£35.7m) in his contract at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

A winger isn’t necessarily high on the list of priorities at London Stadium, or at least it shouldn’t be.
David Moyes’ squad already boasts a plethora of capable wingers after the October arrival of Said Benrahma. If anything, Moyes may be looking to trim his wide options, with Robert Snodgrass one of those perhaps considering his own future.
That said, Cabral has been touted as a future star, with Premier League rivals also in the hunt. Should the Hammers be able to make a deal happen for a reasonable fee, it would be foolish to rule it out.
