West Ham are amongst a host of clubs interested in signing Shakhtar Donetsk defender Mykola Matviyenko according to 90min.
The Hammers are joined by Everton, Wolves, newly promoted Leeds United and a number of clubs across Europe in pursuit of the 24-year-old.
One of the clubs interested is rumoured to be newly crowned Champions League winners Bayern Munich, a nod to the player’s growing reputation.
Matviyenko, who was part of the Shakhtar side who reached the semi-finals of the Europa League, is believed to be available for close to £20m.
He is a versatile operator who naturally plays as a left-back but can cover at centre-back, something he has done for both club and country.

With 26 Ukraine caps, Matviyenko is highly regarded in his homeland and could be ready to make the big switch to one of Europe’s elite leagues.
Previously Arsenal were interested in his services, however, they have since opted to sign Gabriel from Lille instead.
Now it seems like David Moyes has set his sights on the defender and is willing to join the queue of clubs looking to make him their next signing.
The Ukrainian Premier League has already begun and Matviyenko played at left-back in Shakhtar’s opening day win over Kolos Kovalivka.
Moyes is clearly looking to strengthen his defensive options and Matviyenko would provide serious competition to first-choice left-back Aaron Cresswell, however, the Hammers face a difficult battle for his signature.
