West Ham United fans have reacted to a recent report which claims the club will have a cash flow problem due to the lack of football currently being played.
Due to recent events, football remains at a standstill and it is unknown when the Premier League season will return.
With finances tight amongst English football clubs, West Ham are continuing to pay a staff roll of over £10m each month, having seen players from clubs abroad take pay cuts, most notably Barcelona.
Whilst payments of staff wages continue, West Ham are also still paying off installments for players who were signed under former boss Manuel Pellegrini.
With very little income coming in to the London-based club from club merchandise, gate receipts and TV revenue – some club officials are now predicting a black hole of around £60m-£80m.
The report follows on from a recent claim that David Moyes will only have £40m available to spend in the summer transfer window.
Moyes’s men currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, two points ahead of 19th placed Aston Villa.
Following on from the latest report over finances, Irons fans took to social media to give their opinion on the matter…
