West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble was handed another start by manager David Moyes against London rivals Arsenal last weekend, but many fans want to see him dropped from the team.
Noble played 80 minutes at the Emirates Stadium as the Hammers narrowly fell to a 1-0 defeat after Alexandre Lacazette’s second-half strike.
Earlier in the match, Moyes’ side spurned plenty of good opportunities to open the scoring, with Jarrod Bowen striking the post and Michail Antonio just lacking the finishing touch to some great attacking moves.
Noble was partnered by fellow Englishman Declan Rice in midfield and was once again outshone by his compatriot.
Noble made zero tackles, zero interceptions, zero clearances and blocked zero shots in the encounter last Saturday (WhoScored) and many West Ham fans have noticed his dip in performances lately.
They now want him out of the starting XI and with Tomas Soucek back from injury, they would love to see the January arrival’s name on the teamsheet.
One West Ham fan account on Twitter asked the question whether it is time for Noble to be dropped and the answers are pretty one-sided…
Twitter: @COYIrons_com Yes he needs to be dropped he slows our game down now! (@kevin_suddell)
Twitter: @COYIrons_com Yep, he was a passenger Saturday (@RichardKnott2)
Twitter: @COYIrons_com Noble now is a shadow of the player he was. He is never truly in the game, he is always on the fringe… https://t.co/0Ut2hoa19Y (@jshopson)
Twitter: @COYIrons_com Yes. 100% (@MattyH14)
Twitter: @COYIrons_com Definitely. Give Dec the captains armband permanently and send Noble to some league two team like Leyton Orient (@JJGoddard1983)
Twitter: @COYIrons_com Noble should say to moyes rest me for the rest of the season If soucek is fit he offers nothing now apart from the odd penalty (@HottiSukky)
