West Ham United fans have received a major boost ahead of Saturday’s clash against Sheffield United, courtest of Andriy Yarmolenko.

The in-form Ukraine international was surprisingly dropped in last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Everton, in which West Ham’s winless run extended to four matches in all competitions.

He seems determined to return to the starting line-up against Chris Wilder’s dangerous side though, telling the official club website:

I am always ready to play but it’s the manager who decides who will play, of course. I will try to show him next week I’m ready and, of course, if I play I’ll give 100% for a good result.

It’s strange that Manuel Pellegrini opted to not start Yarmolenko against Everton, considering the player himself confirmed he was fit enough to play 90 minutes.

After the Hammers’ toothless attacking display at Goodison Park, it’d come as a mighty shock if the 29-year-old doesn’t start again this time around.

You could make a very strong argument for Yarmolenko to be the ‘Hammer of the Year’ so far and he’ll be hoping to make an impact once again to help West Ham return to winning ways at the London Stadium.
