VAR leaves Hammers fans divided in Bournemouth draw

West Ham United managed to keep their unbeaten run going with a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth, in a game that has yet again been heavily influenced by VAR.

The Cherries had a goal given – Josh King’s first-half equaliser after a smartly taken corner kick – but also taken away as Nathan Ake’s finish was ruled out for an obstruction as just-offside Dominic Solanke interfered with Roberto’s view.

But, despite making correct decisions, some West Ham fans were left unimpressed with the technology which ultimately helped them gain a point against a tough opponent…

Although it caused a bit of an outrage, these Hammers fans were more than happy to see their team be on the right side of a VAR influenced decision.

READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT

I absolutely don’t understand anyone moaning at VAR after today’s game. Yes, it made mistakes against West Ham in the past, but today there is nothing to be actually angry about.

Two crucial decisions which without VAR would cost both teams. It still needs loads of tweaks, but, if given time, it will finally come good, and the game was a big proof of it already becoming better.
