West Ham United’s search for a striker has been one of the headlines of the summer transfer window and the most recent name to be linked is Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa.
The former Chelsea frontman returned to Madrid following four successful years at Stamford Bridge in 2017 but it seems like his time in the Spanish capital could be running thin.
According to the Daily Star, Costa has been told he can leave Atletico this summer following the big-money arrivals of Alvaro Morata and Joao Felix and three Premier League clubs are interested in his services.
West Ham, Everton and Wolves are the three mentioned, as well as Brazilian outfit Flamengo looking to bring him back to his homeland Brazil – but the chances of affording his £150,000-a-week wage are slim.
The 30-year-old only managed four goals last season but would certainly add character to the Premier League and whether bringing him back is well worth a debate.
