West Ham United and Arsenal have reportedly had bids for Lorient attacker Alexis Claude-Maurice turned down, with the latter club expected to go in for a second offer.
Manuel Pellegrini is looking to bolster his attacking options this summer with Marko Arnautovic’s future still in doubt and Celta Vigo frontman Maxi Gomez considered as a priority.
According to reputable Twitter account @EuroUnited6, the 20-year-old is thought to have also attracted interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig and Monaco.

The highest offer the Ligue 1 received is reported to be in the region of £6million and with Arsenal likely to go back in for the promising talent, West Ham’s stance is unknown.
Claude-Maurice – primarily featuring in attacking midfield – has notched 14 goals and four assists for Lorient this season and could be joining former team-mate Matteo Guendouzi at the Emirates Stadium.
It’s very clear the Hammers are on the search for attacking reinforcements ahead of the 2019-20 campaign though, so this could be one to keep an eye on.
Positions West Ham should look to strengthen this summer
Zabaleta offer leadership and professionalism to West Ham, but he’s now 34 and can’t be expected to play a regular role. Fredericks showed good form towards the end of the season but isn’t yet entirely convincing.
Masuaku and Cresswell have shared the left-back spot this season, with neither really establishing themselves in the role. With Cresswell likely to be sold this summer, depth will be low and a new face may have to arrive.
Noble has been terrific for god knows how long now, but it may be time to start thinking of who to bring in as a replacement for when the skipper hangs up his boots. The Hammers have been linked with the likes of Danny Drinkwater and Aaron Mooy so far this summer.
If there was one signing you’d expect West Ham to make this summer, it’d be Celta Vigo centre-forward Maxi Gomez. After missing out previously, the transfer should finally go over the line with Arnautovic’s future still up in the air.
