Bundesliga outfit Augsburg are close to making the permanent signing of Reece Oxford from West Ham, after a deal around £8 million has been discussed.
The defender, who is a product of the East London club’s youth academy, has already spent time playing in Bundesliga having played for Borussia Monchengladbach a number of times on loan.
But it is 14th placed Augsburg, also in the Bundesliga, who are looking to capture the 20-year-old on a permanent deal, with the Hammers valuing the youngster at £8m, according to Sky Sports.
Currently on loan in Germany after joining in January, Oxford has made six appearances and is set to return to the London Stadium this summer.
It doesn’t seem as though Oxford will be in West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini’s plans, as the versatile player hasn’t made a senior appearance for the Irons since late 2016.

The academy graduate has five caps for the England U20 national team, and being only 20 years of age, he still has a lot to prove and develop on.
We have seen many English talents thriving in the Bundesliga, including Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, Leon Bailey of Bayer Leverkusen and Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson, who is on loan at Hoffenheim.
