Manuel Pellegrini has suggested Marko Arnautovic is ready to return to the West Ham United starting line-up against Huddersfield Town this afternoon after a long absence.
Arnautovic hasn’t started for the Hammers since January when he was close to securing a move to the Chinese Super League.
After failing in his search to find a way out of the club, the Austrian has been spending most of the time on the bench in 2019.
However, Pellegrini insists that has been for a number of reasons and seemed to hint that Arnautovic will start against Huddersfield later today.
I think he is ready to return to his position. Marko was out of the team for several reasons. First, because his mind was not right when he had the option to go to China, then he returned but didn’t work for one week and needed time to recover. After that, he was going to play against Manchester City but was ill. The team at that moment was playing well. That is why he started on the bench but he is always involved in the game. He has recovered and is now 100 per cent fit in his mind and physically.
West Ham host the Terriers at the London Stadium at 3pm where they are undefeated so far in 2019.
Pellegrini’s side have played six, won five and drawn just one at home after the turn of the year and can cement their place in the top half of the Premier League table with an expected win.
