Nottingham Forest eyeing £8m move for Reece Oxford

Nottingham Forest are reportedly lining up an £8 million move for West Ham defender Reece Oxford, according to The Mirror.

The Championship hopefuls are seeking to bolster their defensive options as they chase promotion to the Premier League, and see the youngster as a potential target.

The 20-year-old has also been linked with a move to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, who are said to be in talks with the Hammers over a move.

Oxford joined West Ham at Under-13 level and had been steadily rising through the academy ever since.

He has made 17 senior appearances for the London side during his spell at the club but has been sent out on loan several times.

The defender is looking for regular first-team football and could be keen to follow in the path of several English youngsters and move to the Bundesliga.

Oxford could, however, make the switch to England’s second tier and help Forest in their bid to reach the top-flight.
