West Ham target Drinkwater set for Chelsea exit

West Ham transfer target Danny Drinkwater is open to leaving the club in the next transfer window.

According to The Daily Mail, Drinkwater is reconsidering his future after he opted not to leave Chelsea in the summer.

The Englishman has not played a single minute for Chelsea this season and Maurizio Sarri has no intentions to bring him back into the fold.

The report claims that Chelsea would want any club willing to sign him to pay the majority of his £90k-per-week wages in a loan deal.

Southampton, West Ham and Leicester were touted with interest in the summer. It is not stated whether or not West Ham will make another move in January.

Drinkwater has not played a competitive match for Chelsea since March and has only made five Premier League starts since his move from Leicester in 2017.
