Fredericks ruled out for three months with shin injury

West Ham United defender Ryan Fredericks has been ruled out for three months with a shin injury, according to a report on the Evening Standard.

The full-back suffered the injury in the 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town as West Ham’s long-term injury list continues to grow.

Fredericks joined the Hammers on a free transfer during the summer transfer window after helping London rivals Fulham win promotion to the Premier League.

The 26-year-old was beginning to get some game time under Manuel Pellegrini and he has appeared four times in the top flight this season.

The right-back will be out of action until the new year and Pellegrini may now need to adapt his plans for the January transfer window.

The manager was hoping that the injury wasn’t too serious but after further scans and tests, it is far more serious than first considered.

The Hammers host Pellegrini’s former side Manchester City this weekend.
