Injury-stricken West Ham duo close to return
Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere are nearing return from their various injuries, according to reports.
The pair have become infamous for struggling with ailments in recent years, something made all the more infuriating when considering the contribution they make to the West Ham team when fit.
Carroll has not yet featured for the Hammers this season, as he fights his way back from ankle ligament damage sustained during the preseason.
Wilshere did start his debut season in East London, but has been watching from the sidelines since suffering an ankle injury of his own in September.
The duo were a part of a growing injury list at the London Stadium, which also claimed the likes of Manuel Lanzini, Andriy Yarmolenko, Winston Reid, and Carlos Sanchez.
The return of Wilshere will be particularly welcome considering the need for an attacking presence in the West Ham midfield. Robert Snodgrass has filled in when he himself could find fitness, but Manuel Pellegrini may be keen to avoid an overly defensive midfield three.
