Hammers made move for Ben Arfa

West Ham tried to sign Hatem Ben Arfa during the English transfer window, HITC reports.

According to a report from French media outlet L’Equipe, West Ham contacted Ben Arfa and made an offer for the forward, though he now looks set to remain with the French giants.

Ben Arfa is a free agent after spending two years on the books with Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite making a positive impact during his first season with the club, he failed to make a single appearance last season.

However, it is reported that the former Newcastle star has had plenty of clubs contact him this summer vying for his signature.

As well as being linked with West Ham, Ben Arfa has attracted interest from both Spanish side Rayo Vallecano and Portugeuse giants Sporting Lisbon.

Rennes are also currently fighting for his signature.

Despite the loan market still being an option for West Ham, it would be somewhat of a surprise if the Hammers were to make a fresh move for the former PSG player, despite having lost all three of their opening Premier League games.
