West Ham’s Jack Wilshere is relishing the chance to face former club Arsenal this weekend and wants to show the Gunners why they should have kept him, the Daily Mail reports.
Wilshere had been keen to extend his stay at the Emirates this summer but the England international was released by the Gunners, with Arsenal boss Unai Emery offering the midfielder no guarantee of any playing time this season.
Wilshere signed for the Hammers on a free transfer and has started both of their Premier League games so far this season.

Wilshere spent 17 years in the ranks at Arsenal and is now keen to put in a good performance against his old side when he faces them this weekend.
It’s down to me to prove a point to Arsenal that they were wrong to get rid of me.
The 26-year-old broke into the Arsenal first-team as a 16-year-old, but was continuously hampered by serious injuries.
Wilshere had looked set to put pen-to-paper on a new deal with the club before Unai Emery’s appointment.
The midfielder stated that it will be a weird feeling turning out against the club that he spent 17 years at.
It’ll be a strange one for me as I was never able to go there and play when I went out on loan as you can’t play against your parent club.
But it’s one I’m looking forward to… I quite fancy our chances.
