West Ham linked with a move for Elvis Azah

West Ham are set to rival Cardiff City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign promising young winger Elvis Azah, according to the Daily Mail.

It’s believed that following an impressive spell on trial with Cardiff this summer, Azah has emerged as a target for the Hammers, with the club looking to further bolster their youth ranks.

Azah turned in a standout performance for the Bluebirds in their Under-18 side, as he found the net on two occasions against West Ham in a friendly fixture.

The 17-year-old has previously been recognised on the international stage, too. Azah has been capped for the Republic of Ireland at U15 and U16 level, with big things expected of the Ghanaian-born winger.

Cardiff are believed to be keen on recruiting Azah on a permanent deal following his trial period at the club. However, the Welsh side will face stiff competition from other outfits in the Premier League, with West Ham said to also be keen.
