West Ham are set to make a second bid for Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles this week, the Mirror reports.
Newcastle have already turned down a £25million bid from The Hammers for their captain but Manuel Pellegrini is not set to give up in his pursuit of the defender.
However Newcastle are insisting that Lascelles is not for sale.
Everton are also showing heavy interest in the 24-year-old and the Toffees could be set to battle West Ham for the defender’s signature.
Lascelles returned to pre-season training with Newcastle last week.
The highly rated 24-year-old scored three times in 33 Premier League outings for the Magpies last season, impressing at the heart of the Newcastle defence.
West Ham have been stepping up their transfer activity in recent weeks, having already completed the signings of four players, including Jack Wilshere on a free transfer.
Hammers boss Pellegrini has also already landed centre-back Issa Diop, goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski and full-back Ryan Fredericks.
Borussia Dortmund winger Andrew Yarmolenko also looks set to complete a £17.5m switch to the London Stadium in the coming days.
