West Ham revive interest in James Maddison

Everton are preparing a bid for Norwich City star James Maddison this summer following a fine season in the Championship, according to the Guardian.

West Ham are looking to boost their attacking options after heavily relying on Marko Arnautovic last season. The urgency to recruit attacking players has only been intensified following news that Manuel Lanzini has sustained a long-term knee injury.

Lanzini is set for a spell on the sidelines this season, while Arnautovic is being linked with a move to Manchester United.

The player scored 15 goals last season and is keen to make a move to the Premier League after a breakthrough season in the Championship last term.

A number of other sides have been tracking the player following his fine form but Everton have emerged as front-runners for the West Ham target.

The Hammers saw a £12 million bid for the player rejected in January and it’s thought that it will take much more than this to land Maddison this summer.
