Hammers close to new head of recruitment

West Ham United are moving closer to appointing as their new head of recruitment ahead of next season.

Mario Husillos is the man who will look to improve the recruitment at the club ahead of a key summer for everyone associated with the London team.

New first-team manager Manuel Pellegrini has chosen Husillos for this role as the club look to move forward after a poor recent run of signings, with the likes of Jose Fonte and Joe Hart both struggling at the London Stadium.

The Hammers finished the season in 13th position, but it wasn’t quite as easy as that with them flirting with relegation throughout the campaign before some strong final results got them out of trouble.

Husillos has performed well in roles at Malaga in past with Pellegrini which has made him the standout option for this role as Pellegrini begins to put his own stamp on West Ham.
