Joe Hart: David Moyes cost me my World Cup place

Joe Hart is furious with former manager David Moyes as he believes that he cost him his spot on the plane to Russia, according to the Daily Mirror.

The former England number one only featured in five matches under David Moyes at West Ham, over a six month period.

Hart has been the England number one at every major tournament since Euro 2012 and he believes that his failure to get a call-up is only due to a lack of playing time.

In March, England boss Gareth Southgate told the Manchester City man that he would go to the World Cup as his third choice keeper.

Southgate said:

I spoke to him three weeks ago, before he was in West Ham’s team, and told him he would be in the squad on the basis of what he’s done for us. He’s a good leader to have around and he’s understood everything completely. He’s played that role really well. He is everything you would hope a senior player would be.

Nick Pope is likely to be called up as No.3, who has been in excellent for Burnley this season in their quest for European football.
