West Ham United are keen to sign Pontus Jansson from Leeds United this summer, according to claims from the Guardian’s deputy sports news editor, Ed Aarons.

The Hammers will be keen to strengthen their squad in the summer as they aim to avoid slipping into another relegation battle next term. West Ham have played well lately but remain at risk of dropping down to the Championship ahead of next season.
Jansson, who signed for Leeds permanently in the summer after a superb season on loan from Torino, is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the Championship.
West Ham’s defence has often left a lot to be desired this season and following the January departure of Jose Fonte, the club may be keen to land a new centre-back.
Jansson is an established Sweden international and could be keen on a move to the Premier League this summer.
