West Ham are reportedly on the lookout for additional defensive options ahead of the summer transfer window, with Inter Milan defender Yuto Nagatomo the latest name to be linked with a move to the London Stadium.
According to reports in Italy, the Hammers are pondering a summer move for the experienced full-back, who is looking all but set to leave Inter in the coming months.
Nagatomo is currently out in Turkey following his loan move to Galatasaray. It seems, though, that he is surplus to Luciano Spalletti’s requirements at San Siro and will be moved on as Inter aim to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
The 31-year-old has been little more than a rotational option for Inter in recent years after a bright start following his move in 2010. There seems to be Premier League interest in the full-back, though, and he may be offered a chance to impress in England for the first time in his career.
West Ham will not be without competition if they are to swoop for Nagatomo, though. It’s claimed that Watford have emerged as a potential suitor for the defender, also.
