West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic is relishing the chance to test Liverpool’s defence this weekend.
Speaking to the club’s official website, as quoted by the Daily Star, the Austrian international looked ahead to his side’s trip to Anfield as the Hammers look to avenge their earlier defeat to the Reds this season.
I’m a football player and I have respect for every opponent, every defender and every team. But I’m not afraid of anyone and I’m not afraid to take them on and to make things happen.
Arnautovic has been in sensational form for West Ham of late. After a difficult start to life in London, he has since sprung into life and has established himself as one of the club’s most important players.
It will be by no means easy for Arnautovic against Liverpool, though, with the versatile attacker faced with the most expensive defender in the world, Virgil van Dijk.
However, the ex-Stoke man is not in the mood to be fearful ahead of the game and has insisted that he is looking to put Liverpool under pressure.
I’m fit and I will do my best like I always do. I played at Anfield twice when I was with Stoke and it’s a hard place to go, we all know that Liverpool is one of the best teams in the Premier League. But I think we have also done well in the last few games and you can always make something happen.
Arnautovic will be hoping to continue his recently impressive form on Saturday.
