The decision from the club comes off the back of the emergence of comments from Henry, in which he was deemed to have made racially offensive comments when discussing recruitment.
Henry insisted he did not want to target any more players from Africa, claiming that they “cause mayhem”. This led to uproar within the football community and West Ham have been quick to act on Henry’s comments.
West Ham insist in their statement that they do not tolerate any form of discrimination and have therefore seen fit to terminate Henry’s contract at the London Stadium with immediate effect.
The statement labels the comments made by Henry as ‘unacceptable’ and West Ham will now move on and aim to replace the controversial figure in his role as Director of Player Recruitment.
