Andre Ayew holding out for Marseille return

According to reports circulating from Ghanaweb, West Ham forward Andre Ayew is hoping for a move back to his former side Marseille.

The 28-year-old spent 8 years in France with Marseille, scoring 45 goals in 152 appearances for the side currently placed 3rd in Ligue 1.

Ayew impressed when first moving to England on a free transfer, joining Swansea at the end of his Marseille contract in the summer of 2015. During his time in Wales, the Ghanian managed 12 goals and 5 assists in his debut season in England.

West Ham next summer decided that Ayew would be the right man to become their record-signing ahead of the London Stadium move. He arrived in Stratford and joined the Hammers for £20m.

In all competitions so far in his career at West Ham, Ayew has played 50 games and socred 12 goals.

The misfit was rumoured to return to Swansea this month but West Ham swiftly rejected a £14m bid, holding out for the £20m they paid for him last season.

It is thought David Moyes will be willing to sell Andre Ayew in order to target new players this window. If the £20m is offered for the 28-year-old, the move back to France could be desirable for both clubs.
