West Ham will only consider selling Carroll permanently

West Ham United have revealed that Chelsea target Andy Carroll will not be allowed to leave the club on loan and will only consider allowing him to leave if Chelsea make a permanent offer, according to a report on the Evening Standard.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has shown his interest in Carroll and is keen to secure his services on loan until the end of the season as current forward Alvaro Morata goes through a bad spell in front of goal.

However, the Hammers are determined to reject the loan move for Carroll, but will be interested in negotiating a permanent transfer with the Blues.

West Ham boss David Moyes has seen Carroll find the back of the net only twice for the club this season but may be required to keep the Englishman as Diafra Sakho and Javier Hernandez look increasingly likely to leave the club this month.

Conte is looking for a target man up front and failed with his bid for Spanish striker Fernando Llorente last summer. Carroll is the next man on Conte’s list but a loan move will not be agreed by the Hammers.

West Ham won’t agree to a loan move because they need money to find a replacement, so selling him permanently will help them raise money to sign a new striker.

Conte is desperate to sign a forward and we will see what lengths he is preparing to go to in the coming weeks.
