West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Gabriel Pires from Leganes in January.
According to a report from Spanish news outlet AS, as covered by the Daily Mail, the Hammers are pondering a swoop next month for the midfielder.
It’s stated that an offer worth £4.88m could be lodged in an attempt to lure Pires away from Leganes on a permanent basis when the transfer window opens next week.

Alternatively, though, it’s claimed that an initial sum of £1.69m could be coughed up in order to recruit Pires for the remainder of the season on loan. This would then have an option to buy worth £7.98m.
The 24-year-old has been in good form for Leganes this season and has made 14 appearances in La Liga for his side. Pires has netted three goals in the 2017/18 and is capable of playing in a range of different positions through the middle.
West Ham are understood to be keen on signing a new midfielder in January and Pires would fit that bill.
