Moyes feels compassion for out-of-favour Joe Hart

West Ham United manager David Moyes admits that he feels compassion for Joe Hart after the Englishman was dropped in the victory over Chelsea at the London Stadium, according to a report on The Guardian.

Moyes opted to start Spaniard Adrian on Saturday and the decision paid off, with the shot-stopper having a very assured and confident game.

Moyes reveals that the decision was a hard one but was ultimately made for the betterment of the club as a whole and the Scot is happy that the decision worked out well.

Moyes:

I always have compassion for the players, and I have to think of their situation as well. That’s why it wasn’t an easy decision – it wasn’t easy because of that. But ultimately it’s West Ham I have to think about getting a result for. I need to win as well.

The Hammers currently sit in 18th place in the league table after the win over Chelsea and will host another London club on Wednesday night as they face Arsenal.

Moyes will be asking his players to give a repeat performance against the Gunners and if they do then he will be confident of getting a result.

Adrian is expected to start again in that fixture after Moyes was pleased with his impact against Chelsea.

When asked if Adrian will start in midweek, Moyes said:

[He kept a] clean sheet, didn’t make any mistakes today, so I’d have to say on that I would think so.
