West Ham are set to be handed a boost by Javier Hernandez, with the striker poised to return to the squad for the game against Chelsea, according to the Evening Standard.
Hernandez has been West Ham’s most potent goal threat this season but suffered a hamstring injury in recent times. This has seen the former Manchester United man miss nearly five weeks of football as he continues to nurse his problem.
However, it’s looking as though David Moyes will ease him back into the squad ahead of the game against the Blues, with Hernandez likely to be benched to start with.
West Ham have been goal-shy to say the very least this season, netting just 13 times in 15 games in the Premier League.
Hernandez has scored four goals since his £16m summer move from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen, with a lack of service proving to be an issue for the nippy Mexican international.
