According to talkSPORT, West Ham are interested in signing Cedric Bakambu for Villarreal with West Brom and Newcastle also being interested in the striker.

West Ham seemed to solve their striker problem in the summer with the transfer of Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen, but with Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho not pleasing the fans, it only leaves Chicharito as the only out-and-out goalscorer at West Ham.

Bakambu has impressed at Villarreal for many years now and it hasn’t been any different this season, he currently sits 3rd in the La Liga goal-scoring charts behind the best player in the world, Lionel Messi and former West Ham striker, Simone Zaza, who looked hopeless at The Hammers last campaign.

Although Villarreal do not want to sell their star striker, they would budge if the price was right and if the West Ham board stick to their word of backing new manager David Moyes, then the move could happen.
