Carvalho reportedly still keen on West Ham switch
Sporting CP midfielder William Carvalho is reportedly still keen to join West Ham.
According to a report from the Mirror, the Portugal international retains an interest in securing a switch to the Premier League club, having seen his proposed club-record move to West Ham fall through in the summer.
The Hammers’ pursuit of Carvalho was well documented over a number of weeks, but an agreement between them and Portuguese outfit Sporting could not be reached before the deadline.
This has sparked a heated debate between West Ham’s co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan and Sporting CP’s chief Bruno de Carvalho. Therefore, if a move is to come to fruition, both parties will need to reach a compromise and overlook previous poor relations.
It’s claimed in the report that West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is a huge admirer of Carvalho, and wants to land the 25-year-old in the January transfer window this season.
