In a strange turn of events, West Ham appear to be set to offer controversial striker Diafra Sakho a new contract according to Kaveh Solhekol.

The Senegalese forward was looking all but set to join Ligue 1 side Rennes in the final days of the window, with the French club willing to pay £9m for his services.

However, West Ham blocked this deal as they still regard Sakho as an important member of the squad.
Because of this, it looks as though a new and improved contract offer is on the table for the striker, who is something of a fans’ favourite at the London Stadium.
Sakho is understood to have been keen on a move to Rennes due to ‘personal reasons’. However, while West Ham are understanding of his situation, they have kept hold of the striker for the season ahead.
