West Ham winger Robert Snodgrass is wanted by Sunderland, manager Simon Grayson has confirmed.
The Hammers are keen to offload the Scotland international in the remaining weeks of the transfer window, as they look to cut their losses on the experienced wide man.
Since his £10m move from Hull in the January transfer window, Snodgrass has failed to live up to expectations. He’s failed to convince the West Ham faithful of his ability and by the looks of things, Slaven Bilic is ready to sell him.
The likes of Newcastle and Aston Villa have been cited with interest in recent weeks, but Sunderland boss Simon Grayson has admitted that if a deal is financially plausible for them, it’s an option.

Grayson, as quoted by the Sunderland Echo, said this about Snodgrass:
When people like him become available you would be foolish not to consider it. Again that would be a deal dictated by finances.
He is a good footballer, I enjoyed working with him at Leeds. Would he be a good addition? Of course he would, he is a good footballer. Can we do it? Who knows but we might ask the question.
The Black Cats have needed to manage their summer dealings carefully given the club’s debt, and it’s likely that Snodgrass would have to take a significant pay-cut to join Grayson at the Stadium of Light.
