West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has rubbished rumours suggesting that Manuel Lanzini will join Liverpool as Philippe Coutinho’s replacement.
There has been plenty of speculation in recent times surrounding the Argentina international, with reports claiming that the Reds had lined him up as the perfect candidate to step in if Coutinho does go ahead and make a big-money switch to Barcelona this summer.
However Bilic, as quoted by the Telegraph today, has been quick to deny these claims, and insist that Lanzini is a key component of his plans going forward.
I speak to Manu every day, he is happy. He feels at home, he feels liked. You can see it, you don’t have to talk to him and you can see by how he is smiling and is happy.
He broke into the Argentina national team, so he knows if he plays for West Ham he has a chance of getting a better contract with West Ham and playing for Argentina.

News that Lanzini is happy in West Ham colours is sure to be music to the Irons’ faithful’s ears, with their key player sure to be a big part of the season ahead.
I am sure he is going to stay with us. He knows he is wanted. He knows the chairman and the board. He was on loan and we took an option even before we had to. We activated it with him.
He was wanted and was voted the Players’ Player of the Year. It is a good thing also, it makes him feel really wanted. He likes it here.
The 24-year-old is edging closer to returning to full fitness, but is likely to miss out on West Ham’s upcoming trip to Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
