Premier League side West Ham United have agreed personal terms with Portuguese midfielder William Carvalho but are struggling to agree a fee with Sporting Lisbon as the club ask for more than €30m, according to a report on Inside Futbol.
Portuguese news outlet Diario de Noticias claim that the midfielder has agreed to join the London club and is eager to play in the Premier League.
The Hammers have informed the player to speak with his current club and to try to convince them to agree a fee with West Ham so he can complete his move before the transfer window slams shut.
Carvalho has been linked with the Premier League for several years now, with Arsenal coming the closest to signing him in recent seasons.
This summer, West Ham have had competition from fellow London clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace, but it seems that they are in pole position to land the midfielder.
The West Ham officials who are in Lisbon have convinced the player to make the move to the London Stadium and are now waiting for his club to accept their offer.
The 25-year-old would be a great addition to Slaven Bilic’s side and will give them strength in midfield.
The Hammers have had a successful transfer window so far after capturing the likes of Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic.
