Sofiane Feghouli’s move to Galatasaray is very close
According to NTVSpor, Sofiane Feghouli is set to fly out to Istanbul today ahead of a transfer to Galatasaray.
Feghouli joined West Ham from Valencia for a free transfer last summer ahead of the club’s move to the London Stadium but the Algerian winger failed to impress in his time at the Hammers like other signings in the same window such as Simone Zaza and Jonathan Calleri.
The 27-year-old only scored four goals last season whilst assisting three in 27 appearances, 11 of these appearances were off the bench.
The recent arrival of Marko Arnautovic at West Ham from Stoke has pushed Feghouli down the pecking order behind the new Austrian and Andre Ayew so he needs this move away if he wants game-time.
There was an altercation between West Ham and Feghouli, which delayed his move to Turkey, about the reported signing-on-fee which the player thought he was owed by the club but now these problems look solved and Feghouli will have his medical today.
The fee is a reported £4m which seems to be very low for a player like Feghouli, especially in this current transfer market.
